Kenneth Flaska's

My name is Ken Flaska. I was born and raised in Michigan. I graduated from Wayne State University with a business degree in 1974 and a law degree in 1978. I developed a successful law practice and served as the Head of the Litigation Group at a prominent Midwestern Law Firm. Poor choices influenced by a personal financial crisis led me to engage in Fraudulent Banking activities. I plead guilty to Bank Fraud in April of 2014 and was sentenced to serve 64 months in Federal Prison in September of 2014. I plan on using my time away reading and writing a blog about my experiences and other related topics. I also plan to write a book. The monumental consequences associated with a Federal Felony Conviction seem unsurmountable at times, but I am confident that hard work and complete transparency will allow me to return to the real world as a wiser, stronger and more productive human being. I am blessed to have a beautiful wife and an incredible son support me through this difficult journey.

Acceptance

Acceptance I received this yesterday, author unknown. I liked it and wanted to share it with You.   "Just because I am different from You, please do not reject Me or discount my worth. Don't assume I am wrong and try to change me. If I see things differently than...

Unexpected Letter

I received a letter today from a young man who was a friend of my son. (I will give him the alias of Chris) His letter made my day. Chris told Me that I inspired him to work hard in school to be the best person He could be. He reminded Me of a story I used to share...

Can Money Buy Happiness?

In the past, I was asked this question and I had a stock response. I do not know, but I would rather be a wealthy unhappy person as opposed to a poor unhappy person. Now that I no longer have any material wealth, I am really hoping that happiness is not tied to my net...

New Month

New Month - November 1, 2015 The most exciting day in prison - The first day of a new month. One month closer to the door. I just got off the phone with my wife. She was visiting friends (Jeff and Mary Jo) on their boat that was moored in a harbor on Marco Island. I...

Rule Breaker?

Rule Breaker? I got pulled over by the C.O. (corrections officer) while I was working out on the Rec yard. I was doing pull-ups on a bar that was attached to the bleachers. This activity was apparently in violation of the compound safety rules. I had no idea that the...

My World?

Welcome to my world. Actual conversation I overheard while on the track in the Rec Yard last week. Prisoner # 1; Man, that is crazy. I did not use that Meth S_ _ _! It will destroy your body. Your teeth fall out....It will burn out your lungs! Prisoner # 2; I still...
