Prison Reform

12/9/15

There has been a lot of talk about prison reform lately. Both the house and senate have bills that have made it out of committee. While drug cases seem to be the primary focus, there is some hope for impact on white collar offenders as well.

Many studies have shown that correlation for non-violent offenders has a minimal impact, and no value for society, while losing taxpayers an enormous amount of money. The current legislation that is being contemplated provides for non-violent offenders who participate in programs to remove additional time credit towards release, and a reduction in probation as well.

Given that we cannot work, do not have access to computers or the internet, we cannot provide any positive impact for society. Getting us back integrated into becoming useful productive citizens only makes sense.

Please contact your Congressmen, Senators and ask them to pass legislation as soon as possible.
