The Grinch in Federal Prison

I always enjoyed the book “The Grinch who Stole Christmas” and the old television cartoon special based upon the book. To my surprise, some of the Prisoners got together and staged a play based upon the book. It was a “modern” interpretation of the story. The “Grinch” was the leader of a gang that robbed homes of holiday gifts. The Players crafted costumes out of the limited resources available and staged the play in the chapel. The play was well received and I enjoyed it. After the play, I was in a positive state of mind for the rest of the day.

Later that evening, I was standing outside the television room and a news show came on. The television room was crowded and I had previously been advised to avoid the Television rooms as they can be an area where issues can arise. Following this prison advice, I got my chair and set up outside the Television room in the lobby where I could see the television through the glass window. I was quickly tapped on the shoulder and told that I had put my chair in someone else’s spot. I moved to a different location, and thought to myself, The Grinch in Federal Prison has come and will not allow Me to watch the news!

Enjoy your Holiday!
