Top 10 List From My First Week In Federal Prison

1. I received my phone pin number so I could make calls to my family.
2. I received letters at mail call from family and friends.
3. The religious services were much better than expected including an outstanding choir and an excellent sermon.
4. I was surprised by the generosity of my fellow prisoners who helped me get by until commissary shopping day.
5. You can sit outside in the center of the running track and read in a quiet place with a view of Georgia pine trees.
6. I have read four books in the last seven days for pure pleasure.
7. I ran on the track, visited the weight pile and realized that there is sufficient fitness equipment to stay in shape.
8. I figured out that I will lose weight in prison based upon my personal dislike for prison food.
9. I was able to go to the commissary and purchase basic necessities.
10. I went to the education center and will be signing up for a computer class to upgrade my computer skills.
