Today is my mother's birthday. I sent her a card, but I wish there was more I could do for her to show my love and appreciation for her on her birthday. I had plans to carve her something from soap, but my tools and art supplies were packed up along with all my other personal property. Unfortunately I can't even call my mother to wish her a happy birthday, another consequence of being on cell isolation. However I did send her an email wishing her my best, but what's more important is that I know how focused I am, working hard each day to live a better life, a sober life that's goal oriented, with higher morals and values, increasing my chances for a successful future upon my release from prison, enabling us to share many more wonderful birthdays and holidays together, enjoying each other’s company without a worry in the world.
