PRISON INFO./ADVICE - This morning, after my first day back to running and working out, I returned to my cell, got ready to take a shower, walked to the shower area only to see a sign taped to the wall next to the showers stating that all the showers were closed. Trying to find out what was going on, why the showers were closed and for how long, I asked around. Nobody knew why the showers were closed, the guard on duty told us that he got a call from his boss, was told to shut them down and that's all that he knew. Okay so this is no big deal, the showers have been closed many times before for several reasons such as just having to snake a clogged drain, or fix the plumbing. So I just gave myself a birdbath in my cell sink, something I've had to do countless times at Lebanon Correctional, for several reasons. After count cleared and they let us back out of our cells I could see that the showers were still closed, glad that I washed up in my cell because I had to go to class. After returning from horticulture class I could see that the showers were still closed. As I returned to my cell, Kurt gave me the updated scoop as to why the showers were closed. He told me that the guards pulled what looked like about a pound of marijuana from out of the shower vents. This is a very common occurrence in many other prisons, but here at Madison this kind of thing doesn't happen as often. When it comes to a quantity as large as a pound of weed, many outside readers might think that's a lot of drugs to smuggle in up someone’s' butt, 'but' that's not at all how something like a pound of weed makes it into a prison, no, there's only one way to get that much marijuana in here and it's through a prison guard. This is just another well known, simple fact amongst inmates. The only question being asked around here is who told on whom. I'm just glad that I have nothing to do with this way of life anymore, I can't say what I don't know, I wouldn't say even if I did, the guards play by their own set of rules while us inmates have to live and abide by a completely different set of rules, some men on both sides tend to break those rules sometimes, that's probably how the marijuana got here and that's also probably how it was found.
