Kenneth Flaska's

My name is Ken Flaska. I was born and raised in Michigan. I graduated from Wayne State University with a business degree in 1974 and a law degree in 1978. I developed a successful law practice and served as the Head of the Litigation Group at a prominent Midwestern Law Firm. Poor choices influenced by a personal financial crisis led me to engage in Fraudulent Banking activities. I plead guilty to Bank Fraud in April of 2014 and was sentenced to serve 64 months in Federal Prison in September of 2014. I plan on using my time away reading and writing a blog about my experiences and other related topics. I also plan to write a book. The monumental consequences associated with a Federal Felony Conviction seem unsurmountable at times, but I am confident that hard work and complete transparency will allow me to return to the real world as a wiser, stronger and more productive human being. I am blessed to have a beautiful wife and an incredible son support me through this difficult journey.

This Week in Jesup

This Week in Jesup A guy on my floor is leaving this week. The other day we were discussing the fact that He was a "short timer" (Less than 30 days to the door). He told Me "He was shorter than a midget in quicksand wearing lead boots". Not politically correct, but...

This Week in Jesup

This Week in Jesup. The finger I had surgery on is very stiff. I am working with an old handball to exercise it to gain some range of motion. You work out your own physical therapy plan in prison. Tonight they had a post production party for the cast of the holiday...

Flaska Blog

Monday; January 11, 2016 Time for my monthly haircut. I keep my hair very short in prison. It eliminates time in the bathroom and I have not met anyone I want to impress in prison. I waited outside the barbershop for 30 minutes to insure my spot in line. There are two...

Institutionalized

Institutionalized I have heard the word "institutionalized" in the past and never gave it much thought. It applied to certain people in institutions and had nothing to do with Me. My experience with the term "institutionalized" was watching how actors in the film "The...

Broadway in Jesup?

Last night was the first performance of our prison play "FOOL". The house was packed, standing room only in the prison chapel. (I am serious, what else does a prisoner have to do on a Tuesday night at Jesup FSL?). The production went well with only minor mishaps. The...

A Day at the Hospital

A Day at the Hospital In my last blog, I left you on my ride to the hospital. The C.O.'s who took me to the hospital were professional and polite. They were armed and wore bullet proof vests! I waddled into the front doors of the hospital in my leg irons and handcuffs...

A Night in the S.H.U. ?

A Night in the S.H.U. ? Wednesday Night, right before 10:00 p.m. count, the C.O. came and told Me to get dressed, I was going to the S.H.U. ( special housing unit). The S.H.U. is where they send prisoners who misbehave or violate the rules of the institution. They...
