This Week in Jesup
Those of you in Michigan are enjoining the last few weeks of summer. I have fond memories of warm summer days and nights on Lake St. Clair. The water always had a positive effect on Me. The only water around Me is the afternoon thunderstorms in southern Georgia. Water is simply another thing I took for granted.
It is still hot and muggy down here. The recreation yard is closed most days as the heat index exceeds 103 degrees on a regular basis. Hence, very little exercise which affects my mood.
I received great news today. A good friend is flying down the weekend of September 11 to visit. He is bringing my Son along with him. I have not seen my son for over a year so I am ecstatic. I am also a bit nervous. I do not know how He will react to seeing his father in prison khakis' in a prison visiting room. It is not the vision I ever really wanted him to see.
Some of the fathers on the compound refuse to let their children visit as they do not want their children to have that memory. That is their choice but they are not fostering stronger bonds with their children.
I just want to see my son, I want to give him a hug and let him know that his old man is ok.
I have received several letters from folks who have discovered my blog. I truly appreciate the people who take the time to drop me a note. They let Me know that while I may be out of sight, I am not out of their minds. ( although, I may be slowing losing a part of my mind here!)
I want you all to know that I am going to survive this (God willing). I am going to return. I am going to be a healthy and productive citizen once again. You can quote me on this!
