Having visits from home, family and friends has a strange effect on many of us.  While we welcome the contact and the visit it stirs up a sense of longing to be back in the civilian world and reminds us of all the things we are missing out on.  While it is far better to have the visits than not, it does stir up a lot of feelings and takes a bit of time to settle back to the usual routine.  I certainly know that the visitors must have very similar feelings as well.  I know really appreciates the time we spend together but I also know that as good as it is it has a tinge of sadness and melancholy for her as well.  We all have to face what we don’t have on a regular basis and what we really would like to have happen, but sadly this is not to be.

I can honestly say I certainly would chose having a visit than not but it does come with a price.
