I have come to fully appreciate the early morning sunrise more and more everyday. It amazes me that in spite of walking the same track, seeing the same scenery and doing the same thing everyday for the last month how much really changes and how much I have begun to notice.

I have a particular affinity to trees, I have hundreds of photographs of trees in my collection, trees at various times of the year in various states, they are stately and beautiful and quiet and understated.

This morning I was struck by one particular oak tree that actually is directly in front of my view of the sun rising, and as I circled the track on every pass the lighting and shading of the tree changed. How beautiful the first glimmers of the light passing in behind and through the tree, sillueting the tree at first light. The the gradual rise of the sun and the scattering of the light thru the branches gave the tree a slight orange glow. At each pass the lighting changed, like a light show at the Fillmore, it was really very beautiful to watch.

So I am thankful for the time I have in the morning to appreciate this and for the peace and solitude it provides. I have come to appreciate the things that cant be taken away from me here in prison, and they far outweigh the material things that have been stolen from me.
