Over the course of the past several days, five in fact I have been face to face with the institution and how the people who exercise the power within use the rules or ignore the rules to suit their fancy.  These are the people who are hear to ensure the safety if the public at large by keeping we the prisoners in line. It also states that the prisoners in their care are also entitled to a safe, clean and hassle free environment.  There seems to be a major disconnect from what is written and what is actually done.  Without going into detail this is not the case at all, the exception is a BOP employee that is civil and respectful.  While I understand that many prisoners are always seeking to get more than they are entitled too and certainly stretch the boundaries and defy the rules, this is not all of us.  Unfortunately the few make it bad for the many and is that the way it has to run.  I think not, why not remove the few who are disruptive from the many who are not.  That would require a lot more work on the part of the BOP employees, who would rather punish the many to try and get the few in line, this never seems to work.  Reform in prison should start with what goes on in prison, not dealing with bills in Congress that are window dressing to the real issues that go on in the system.  These are the issues that need to be addressed.
