We changed the clocks back last night to mark the new month, the new season and now it does finally feel like fall. Thankfully the weather is still unseasonably warm which I’m very thankful for, it allows me to get out every morning to exercise and stick to my routine. I missed the sunrise this morning though, the time change beat me to it. While I was out I did notice the bird life was more varied today. Fir the first time there were several sea gulls flying around the camp and a lot of crows. I haven’t seen much of them before. Sea Gulls 25 or so miles away from the ocean is pretty interesting, one wonders why they were here, perhaps an advanced scouting party for the rest of the flock in search of new feeding, there’s certainly a great deal of garbage around here. I’ve always found it interesting how the birds communicate with each other in their own species and then with other species. A lot of crows this morning too, in fact the crows seem to wave off the sea gulls, or the sea gulls deferred to the crows, territory? Well, I certainly have the time to investigate all of that ornithology.
I’ll have to look for some books in the library.
