I would be remiss if I didn't mention what an absolutely beautiful day weather wise it is here at Camp Fed. There is not a cloud in the sky, the temperature has to be in the mid seventies, it's hard to believe it's the third of November. The weather has become an important part of my day and it has a profound effect on my emotions. It was never like this on the outside, the weather was the weather, warm, cold, wet dry, sunny, cloudy it never really effected my outlook or my feelings towards the day. That is certainly not the case here and I know this "weather effect" is not just with me. Many of my fellow inmates feel the same way. I think because there is the confinement with a great deal of men that the opportunity to be outside and feel less crowded and restricted makes us all feel better. The really pleasant days makes the time go faster and also gives us an opportunity to feel a little like we're home. Many of the men dread the cold and the confinement that results from this, even if it is self imposed. For me, I welcome the cold and fully intend to continue my exercise regime outside, in fact it will give me more time to be outside and alone and be able to enjoy some of the quiet and nature in peace. So many of the things we took for granted are so precious here, like quiet, solitude and the opportunity to think.
