Thanksgiving

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. Enjoy your family, your friends and your holiday traditions. This is my second Thanksgiving in prison. Last Thanksgiving, I did not believe that I had very much to be thankful for. I was  lost in self-pity over my circumstances and the circumstances of my family. I had no basis to be in a self-pity mode since I, alone, was responsible for my situation.

This year I see things from a more objective point of view. I am blessed to have a beautiful wife and a handsome son who are still in my corner. I still have a number of friends who have decided to support Me despite my poor choices. Just a couple of weeks ago, I received a letter from an old friend who did the hockey parent circuit with Me and my wife many years ago. She told Me that She placed flowers on my Son's niche knowing I could not do so. I cannot tell you how good that made Me feel. ( Thanks Debbie R. ).

There is a light and life at the end of my self-created tunnel. I am thankful for that.

Happy Thanksgiving.
