I was up early this morning because it was so hot in the bunks last night and I really couldn’t sleep, so right after our 5AM Head Count I went out on the track for a walk.  Outside the weather had broken it was dark but the crescent morn was up and there were stars in the scattered cloudy sky, it was quite beautiful.  In some of the clouds there were shreds of lightening, they lite the clouds from within and went on and off like beautiful subdued Christmas lights, it was almost spiritual.  Walking the track going from east to west and watching the sky very slowly change was really a treat.  I cant remember the last time I saw stars in the NYC sky or perhaps I haven’t really looked or noticed in so many years, probably a combination of the two.  As I walled the track and watched the sky I thought how lucky am I to get to see this picture, the sky, the pending storm, the moon and the stars, this is certainly worth the price of admission.  I walked and gazed and thought about the strange chain of events that had brought me here to this point in time and realized that it was now time to make some changes in my life, begin to appreciate alot more of what I’ve been given and think about and take some positive steps for improving and determining what I want my next chapter to look  like.
