I was amazed this morning how quickly the massive oak tree adjacent to the track leaves changed color, it seemed it occurred over night.  Yesterday they were still green, this morning they turned to a wonderful golden hue, wild.  I've been keeping an eye on this particular tree simply because it hadn't changed color yet, while most of the trees around the base were changing colors and hues for the past week or so.  I was wondering why this one was resistant, was it just the nature of oak trees in general or did this one have a mind of it's own.  It was being defiant simply because it was now part of the BOP when once it was part of the military base, its way of saying not on my watch, trees could be that way, defiant.  It reminded me of the tree in front of my house, the last one standing on my block, the only one that Sandy did not kill.  She got some of it, but my tree stood tall, somewhat diminished but still standing, good for you tree.  That's the story, stand tall and do what you  have to do and beat the odds and someone else's plan.  Trees are very cool.
