A friend sent me a book on mindfulness yesterday, this one, the Buddhist version, I read the first chapter and was reminded that so many new age authors have borrowed the Buddhist way throughout the ages.  The ever changing state we all live in, the power of positive energy and thought, the ability to love in the now and the power of self awareness.  It all works if we can believe in the basic principles; it is certainly a way to bring some calming moments to a life that is constantly under pressure.

While walking the track on this beautiful crisp cool autumn day I tried to practice some of the breathing exercises from the book, breath in, breath out, appreciate the breath, appreciate the sun, appreciate the sky, the birds, the trees, the ground the sounds, everything around me and it does have a calming effect.  I walked several laps trying to concentrate on one of nature's treasures on each lap, the sun, the sky, the clouds, the lighting and realized that I had walked five laps, maybe six or seven, without being conscience of the time that passed or the laps I had walked.  It was all about the enjoyment of the here and now in the moment and prison was gone and my situation was gone and it was just me and nature, it was good.  Thanks for the book.
