Stories are the stuff that makes all of us respond to one another, be it positive or negative, fact of fiction, how they are told and by whom, influences us is so many ways.
Here in prison there is not shortage of stories and story tellers. Oh the webs they spin, the tales they tell, the pictures they paint, it is truly an incredible cornucopia of depth and scope.
If one allows oneself to become engaged with a fellow inmate for more that a five minute conversation it will undoubtedly lead to a story. If one actually makes and effort to really listen and absorb the basis of each story it is almost as good as reading a great book. There are some exceptional story tellers in here and one has to watch that they do not get themselves lost in the webs.
The subjects are as varied as the Enclyopedia Britannica, from A TO Z from macro to Micro thet never end. Politics, Crime, Sports, Business, Suspence, Romance, Suberfuge, the list is endless, it just never ends. In addition, with the constant coming and going of prisoners and Corrections officers there is always new source material.
I can only say that it becomes a job just to filter some of the white noise out, but who needs TV, who needs the newspapers, who needs the radio, it's all here in the Camp.
