This Week in Jesup
Well, I experienced my first birthday in prison. No big deal. Just another day. I did treat myself at the commissary to an ice cream sandwich and a new toothbrush. Total expenditure of $ 2.05. An inexpensive birthday. Some of the guys on the unit gave me a belated birthday card. It contained mostly humorous statements such as "You suck, I hope you make it another year old man". Oh well, it is the thought that counts? This week also marks the birthday of my oldest son Taylor. He would have been 27 on 9-14-15. I miss him every single day.
Moving on, the jailhouse lawyers on the compound are all in a tizzy about some new sentencing legislation that would grant existing prisoners some sentence relief. I told them not to pack their bags quite yet. This type of legislation rarely makes it out of the congressional judiciary committee. Time will tell.
The weather here is a bit cooler and we are able to go out and exercise on the rec yard most days. My baby boy is visiting tomorrow and I cannot put into words how excited I am to see him.
Thanks again to all of the folks who have taken the time to drop Me a note. I also want to thank all of the folks who simply took a couple of seconds and thought about Me. It is good to know that I have not been forgotten.
Ken Flaska
Hi Ken, Craig Zamler here. Sorry it’s been so long. I’ve thought of you often and hope you are well. I look forward to when you get out so that we can reconnect. Take care and keep us posted!
