This Week in Jesup.

The mood of the compound is subdued. Almost everyone seems to be thinking about their families and past holidays

On the other side of the fence. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with their family and their friends. Treasure your time with them as they are the most important thing in your life. Being in prison gives me the time to reflect on what is really important in my life. I do not miss my house, my cars, my boats, my job or the pressure that came with them. What I truly miss are the people I love, my wife, my boys, and my friends. My crime has affected some of my relationships but many have remained intact. (Thank God).

We received our holiday gift bags this week from the prison staff. (Bag of assorted snack foods). The guys in my unit were excited. They went around trading with each other for the items they prefer. It reminded me of my boys dumping their Halloween candy on the family room floor and trading their loot. One guy packaged up his gift bag and mailed it home as a Christmas gift for his kids!

In addition to my gift bag, I received some new books from some friends this week. They are truly appreciated!

My hand is healing. I get the stitches out tomorrow. I do not know how long the external pin has to stay in. I hope it comes out soon as it is a bit of an inconvenience.

One advantage to being in prison does not have to fight your way through the holiday shopping crowds! On further reflection, I would love to be out there doing just that!
