Without a doubt it is harder on my wife, Sherry than it is on me.  Not only am I sentenced to a term in federal prison but my wife and family are as well.  In fact I think the term is much harder on the families left behind, in many case they now have to fend for themselves do all of what they normally do and take on the “jobs” of their missing spouses as well.  I certainly don’t envy the wives who also have to take care of their young children financially and emotionally.  What a trying time for them.

It was wonderful to see Sherry, but it was emotionally draining for us both.  I know she is having a hard time of this and there isn’t Anything I can do.  All I can offer is some words of encouragement and say it will all be better soon.  Those of  us inside are being fed, housed, clothed and don’t really have to worry about the day to day living and what that entails.  It’s sad and I certainly don’t think that is the intent of incarceration but this is certainly the result.
