Brrrr, it was refreshingly cold this morning here at Camp Fed.  Finally, we have some seasonal weather.  My morning walk at 6:30 today was in the low 30s and a brisk prevailing wind from the west made it feel cooler the thermometer read.  I absolutely love it.  I enjoy exercising in the cold; it's more invigorating and energizing, for me.  The other great benefit to this sudden burst of frigid air is that it kept all of my fellow inmates inside.  I had the track and back compound all to myself.  Walking around the track watching the sunrise was a pleasure, the quiet and the solitude is something that is rarer than a flawless 10 carat diamond in here and to me, worth just as much.  The opportunity to exercise and think and actually hear my own thoughts was a luxury I very rarely get.  In spite of the burning cheeks, the runny nose and eyes and the freezing hands I stayed out for over an hour and a half and relished in my peace and solitude.  This was actually the first time since I have been here to experience the feeling, it was really, really nice.  If this is the portent of things to come when it gets cooler I welcome it with open arms.  However, I doubt this will be the case, I fear as soon as my fellow inmates adjust to the change they too will be out in the cold enjoying the seasonal weather with me.  Enjoy it while I can and look forward to some more, it's really the little things that count.
