For years I have always believed that the "right" attitude makes all the difference in the world. I have applied this principle both inside and outside the gates. Those are the prison gates that I am referring to. When people see your character and your demeanor they are more inclined to help you. I have witnessed numerous inmates with issues with guards and administration. I have watched situations unfold. I have thought to myself that the situation could have easily been resolved. Humility, humbleness and respect ca be the catapulting force to take you to the next chapter.
When I was on the outside I stayed very busy. Sometimes days, weeks and months would past and I would say where did the time go???? When you are in your "holding place" there is a lot of time for thinking and reflecting. Here are lessons I've come to appreciate that I will live by in my next chapter post Carswell:
1. Everything is temporary, the good times and not so good times
2. Don't freak out on the insignificant things i.e toilet seat up, he's late, she's late, everythings going wrong, kid's bad grades yada, yada, yada... in the grand scheme of things just shake your head and laugh!
3. Appreciate ALL the hours of the day because they never return
4. Embrace family, enjoy them, love them, appreciate them, spend quality time with them
5. Take care of your health
6. It can be repaired
7. THink it ALL through
8. Watch your tongue
9. Pray often and ask for direction even on the simplest things
10. Learn to FORGIVE daily
11. Don't allow others to make you go there THEY are NOT in control of your emotions
12. Remember you ARE a Unique individual and Never forget that FACT
13. Make yourself feel GOOD daily
14. Cleanse your MIND of garbage
15. Limit that AMOUNT of negativity and garbage you allow others to DEPOSIT into your "LIMITED" space
