Anger is an energy

I attended high school and college in the '80s. it was a time of a wide variety of amazing music. the other day i was listening to a song from public image limited, rise, where the chorus repeats "anger is an energy"

That statement is very true. anger is an energy, and a very negative one. as humans, we all get angry, its a natural response, especially when we have been wronged or hurt. in the past 10 years since the chain of events that led me here, i've had a lot of time to think about anger, reactions and how to convert that into something positive.

I recently read a great statement, "we must deal with the world as it is, not as we want it to be. i think that is a powerful philosophy to follow. when something makes you angry, step back, evaluate what is driving the anger, and focus the energy on how you can resolve the issue that is causing the anger instead of lashing out with negative energy, which is often our first reaction.

If you react with anger, you will often just increase the negative energy of the situation and escalate the problem instead of resolving it. I don't mean to just suck it up, but in a kind and calm way, point out what upset you and why, and offer a solution that would mitigate or eliminate your negative feelings. in the long run everyone wins.
