I Love Visits in Federal Prison!

June 8, 2015

My husband Ken was here yesterday for a visit and he came up with our good friends Mike and Mark. Last Friday (the 5th) was Ken's birthday and they came up so we could celebrate. We have known Mike and Mark for a few years - they lived across the street from us on Orchid Tree Lane and we met them at an open house in our neighborhood. We became close friends pretty quickly and had each other over for dinner frequently. We let them in on our "situation" early on and they were so helpful to us as all the ups and downs occurred leading up to my unfortunate incarceration. So it was great to have the four of us together for the first time since right before I surrendered in January. Lots of laughs and some serious talk too. I am glad they just around the corner from Kenny. They moved into our trailer park last year - they must have really missed living close to us! 🙂 And we were so happy to have been able to attend their wedding in San Mateo late last year.

So today I am grateful to have a husband who has a great job and who is doing a fantastic job of making his own life while I am away and friends who come to visit me! That level of support from so many of you is what is allowing me to thrive and grow here. I truly realize how fortunate I am in that respect!

That is all for today! My little brother Steve will be here this Friday from the Seattle area and my dear friend of 39 years (yikes) Audrey will be here the following Friday. Yay!!!

Also, thanks for all the books!!!! Maria Santapaolo, Mur Brown, Vanessa Quan, Kathleen Poulos, Holly Bennett and Maureen O'Connell! You guys are all great!!!!
